Are ya stupid?

This guy's walkin' down a street when he falls in a hole. The walls are so steep he can't get out. A doctor passes by and the guy shouts up, "Hey you! Can you help me out?" The doctor writes a prescription, throws it down in the hole, and moves on. Then a priest comes along and the guy shouts up, "Father, I'm down in this hole; can you help me out?" The priest writes out a prayer, throws it down in the hole and moves on. Then a friend walks by. "Hey, Joe, it's me. Can ya help me out?" And the friend jumps in the hole. Our guy says, "Are ya stupid? Now we're both down here." The friend says, "Yeah, but I've been down here before and I know the way out." - Leo McGarry to Josh Lyman, The West Wing "Noel"

At my CPE site, we've had a lively discussion about how much sharing about ourselves we should do when visiting patients. Given my recent experiences, I find I'm empathizing with patients & their families. I try to use some of my experiences to build a bridge and connect with them. Some people have said I shouldn't because it takes away from the patient, but most of my peers disagree. I figure as long as I keep the focus on them, and not on me, I should be ok.

While we were discussing this topic, this clip from The West Wing (boy, do I miss this show!) came to me. We miss you Leo McGarrity/John Spencer.

I too miss West Wing. It was one of our favorites.

LTSG question for you--in the apartments, what type of internet connection is there for desk top computers? Is that something we'll need to do through the phone/cable company, or is that all set? Thanks.
