Praying that you don't burn out

Sorry I haven't written in a while, but it is the end of the semester, and I'm doing enough writing (and you all aren't giving me a grade). I might post parts of some of them later.

It's tough here at The LTS. We live in a fishbowl, always being observed, both by the Church and each other. Sometimes it can get daunting. Some of my friends have had it a little tougher, being in the headlights of the rest of campus. I've tried to be supportive, and hope I have. It has been interesting to observe from some what of the sidelines and see how an off handed comment can be hurtful (even when not intended) or taken out of context. Then I wonder when I have said something insensitive, or jumped to conclusions.

And I realize how broken we all are
- and how much we break each other.
I'm sorry for any breaks I've made, and any breaks I haven't stopped.
And I wish that glue could make the pain go away.

Our Lady Peace-Somewhere Out There

Last time I talked to you
You were lonely and out of place
You were looking down on me
Lost out in space

Laying underneath the stars
Strung out and feeling great
Watch the red orange glow
Watch it float away

Down here in the atmosphere
Garbage and city lights
Gonna save you're tired soul
You're gonna save our lives
Turn on the radio to
Find you in satellite
I'm waiting for the sky to fall
I'm waiting for a sign

And all we are
Is all so far

You're falling back to me
The star that I can see
I know you're out there somewhere out there
You're falling out of reach
Defying gravity
I know you're out there, Somewhere out there

Hope you remember me
When you're homesick and need a change
I miss your purple hair
I miss the way you taste
I know you'll come back some day
On a bed of nails I wait
I'm praying that you don't burn out
Or fade away

And all we are
Is all so far

You're falling back to me
The star that I can see
I know you're out there somewhere out there
You're falling out of reach
Defying gravity
I know you're out there, Somewhere out there

You're falling back to me
The star that I can see
I know you're out there

You're falling out of reach
Defying gravity
I know you're out there, Somewhere out there

You're falling back to me
The star that I can see
I know you're out there somewhere out there
You're falling out of reach
Defying gravity
I know you're out there, Somewhere out there

You're falling back to me - I know, I know

You're falling out of reach - I know

Good post. As one living off campus, I am not a regular swimmer in the fishbowl, but I know stress and close proximity can be real challenges. Thanks for the food for thought.
