Bible Vacation

from the July 2015 Messenger

I’m pretty angry at you people. GRRRRRRRR!

I don’t know what you people did to him, but my Big Guy was really worn out last week. He couldn’t throw things for me to bring back, and he was worse than usual at tug of war.

He said he had a lot of weddings at the church, but the yard looked pretty good whenever I’ve been there. I didn’t see any weeds in the places I usually go.

He also said there were Vacation Bible Schools. He’s my Big Guy, so I might be biased, but I think he knows the Bible pretty well, and doesn’t need to go to school for this Vacation Bible. Can’t you use the same one as when you’re not on vacation??
But, I took care of him and nursed him back to health. Lots of naps. Lots of bulldogge kisses. I even gave his some belly rubs, but he didn’t seem to appreciate those.

Sometimes your body forces you to take a break, even if you don’t want to. After I play a good game of hide my toys all over the house, even if I want to play it again, sometimes, I lay down and just fall asleep. I must be getting old.

I remember my Big Guy talking about one of the lessons from VBS. I’m not sure what that was, but I know it involved a lot of kids and singing. He said they learned about God creating everything in six days. Then, on the Seventh Day, God took a rest.

My Big Guy said that taking a day of rest after six days of work is a commandment. But we haven’t worked on that yet. I’m still trying to figure out how long “stay” is supposed to last. My Big Guy thinks it is until he says so. Yeah, right.

Taking time to relax and enjoy what you’ve done is a good idea. It helps you to realize how much God has blessed you. You can count up all your toys and bones, and appreciate what you have done.

But if you want to know what I think, God needed a rest, but on the sixth day, God created animals of all types. When God created the bulldogge, God realized that he couldn’t do any better and his work was finished.

Licks and Love, Ananias
