Makeup or Cover Up?
An article from Ananias for the August 5 bulletin.
I
got confused when I was riding in the car with My Big Guy.
We
stopped at a stoplight, and I looked into the car that was next to us. This
lady was using a brush and was putting all of this dust on her face. I was
really confused and got My Big Guy to look over just as the light turned green.
We
wound up stopped at the next light next to the same lady, and this time she was
using a different brush to put other dust on her eyelids. Then she put some
stuff on her lips.
My Big Guy told me that she was putting on makeup. He said some people put
on makeup to make them feel better about how they look.
You
people confuse me sometimes.
I
understand if you want to do things to yourself to make you feel better about
yourself. My Big Guy spends time trying to get his hair to look the way he
wants it to. Once My Big Guy explained to me that the lady was putting on
makeup, I thought about all of the commercials I see on TV for makeup. You all
must use a lot of it.
If
you are trying to improve yourself, or make you feel better about yourself,
that makes sense. But if you do something, whether it is makeup, or joining a
group, or agree with people because you think it will help you to get along
better with them, you are doing it for the wrong reason.
You
should feel free to express yourself as you truly are, and you deserve to be
loved for just being you. I know I have my faults and I’m trying to be better,
but I am the bulldogge that God made me. I’m nervous, and afraid, and loyal to
My Big Guy. I beg for food and snore when I sleep. But I’ve also been told I’m
adorable and can be friendly once I get to know you.
We
don’t even have to do anything to earn God’s love. We got that when God created
us. From what I understand of what My Big Guy has been saying the letter to the
Ephesians, God loved us even before God created creation.
Don’t cover up who you really are. Just be the best you that you can be.
