Something to Chew On

from the February 2015 Messenger

Word gets around a small town pretty quickly, and the Greenwood dog-vine told me my Big Guy talked about me during one of his sermons and how I fell victim to temptation.

In my defense, I chew on things. If he leaves them where I can get at them, I’ll chew them. I am sorry for some of the stuff that I chewed on. I shouldn’t have chewed on my bed, because it sprung a leak, and had to be thrown away. I shouldn’t have chewed on his shoes, but, like a good cheese, I figured anything that smelly MUST be tasty.

I must also raise a point about this challenge he is doing with you about raising money to help people who have to travel to get water. I support the cause because it can be exhausting for me after playing to walk all the way over to my water dish. But I don’t understand why he has to get me involved and that I have to wear a Packers jersey if you give enough money. I don’t even LIKE professional football. I prefer college football, and my favorite team, the University of Georgia.

I thought I would help my Big Guy with his giving stuff up.  Someone gave him a gift card for a coffee place, and it fell on the floor. Yes, it tempted me. I wanted to see what the big deal is about coffee. I chewed it. It didn’t taste that good. I guess I’m not a coffee drinker.

By the way, I don’t think my Big Guy knows that I know that he’s going a way for a while. Please, keep him in your prayers for safe travel, and pray for me that I don’t get into too much trouble while he’s gone.
